The height refers to the height of an uppercase letter "A" of the selected font. So if you select 4 inches the uppercase "A" will be 4 inches tall, but other letters may be shorter or taller (see image above). If all letters are ordered in lowercase, they will be still be scaled to an uppercase "A", which will make most letters smaller than the height you specify.

Warning: Never wash with common harsh detergents or chemicals such as Comet, Ajax, Soft Scrub, or similar abrasive solutions as they will scratch finishes.

  • To clean this product, use a soft cloth, rag, or sponge and warm, soapy water. We recommend using gentle, liquid dish soap.
  • Always carefully wipe in the same direction as the grain. 
  • Dry with a soft rag or cloth.

Description

Marine-grade stainless steel sign letters, made from corrosion-resistant 316 alloy, offer superior durability against harsh weather, saltwater, and moisture. Their sleek, modern finish ensures long-lasting beauty, making them ideal for installation on watercraft and in coastal areas.

The letter heights range from 2 inches to 36 inches tall, and from 1/8 to 1/2 inch thick.

Available in polished or brushed finishes.

Flat cut stainless steel sign letters and numbers are easy to install with multiple mounting options and helpful installation guides that ensure hassle-free alignment for a perfect final look.

For boat letters it is recommended to select the 3M Marine Grade Adhesive option for mounting flush to the hull.  A flush mount may not be possible when mounting large flat letters to a curved portion of the hull.  In this case, it may be advisable to select a back stud mounting type with spacers, which can better accommodate the mounting of these flat letters to a curved surface.

Selecting the Right Letter Height

As a rule of thumb letters should be 1 inch tall for every 10 feet of viewing distance. So if customers are 100 feet away you need letters at least 10 inches tall.

  • Letter R with double-sided tape sign mounting.

    Double-Sided Tape Mount

    Strips of VHB tape are applied to the back of the product. This option is warrantied for interior installation on walls that are smooth, clean, and dry. Heavier letters may require tape and adhesive to properly secure them to a wall.

  • Letter R with stud mounts on the back.

    Back Stud Mount

    1/4" thick or thicker sign elements are drilled and tapped on the back to receive threaded studs. This allows the sign elements to be mounted flush against the wall. 1/8" thick sign elements are too thin to be drilled so blocks are attached to receive the threaded studs, which means the letters will stand out from the wall by about 1/4".

  • 3M 5200 Marine Adhesive Polyurethane Sealant

    3M marine adhesive/sealant 5200 is a 1-part polyurethane that chemically reacts with moisture to deliver strong, flexible bonds. It has excellent adhesion to wood, gel coat and fiberglass. It forms a watertight, weather-resistant seal on joints and boat hardware. In addition, its flexibility allows for dissipation of stress caused by shock, vibration, swelling or shrinking.

    - 4-hour open/work time, won't sag or flow into seams
    - Easy to apply with manual caulking gun
    - Tensile strength 700 psi
    - Cure rate 3 mm per 5-day
